There are two stories that have been floating around Left Blogistan over the past 24 hours that need wide airplay. It's kind of redundant posting them here, because if you're a regular visitor to ASZ, I assume you visit other progressive blogs, and you most likely already know about both. However, on the off chance you missed them, here's a synopsis. Feel free to email MSNBC, CNN, and Fox to express your outrage that neither story is making the "news".
- A very disturbing story regarding abuse of child prisoners in Iraq has been brought to the surface at Sadly, No! The story is getting wide notice in Europe, but nary a peep has been heard on this side of the pond. I guess Fox is more worried about Kerry and Edwards hair.
- The New Republic has a story out that's nothing short of incredible in terms of international intrigue, and how desperate the Bush administration is to upstage the Democratic Convention this year. It's been pretty obvious that the Bush admin has been treating Pakistan with tender loving care - and this story looks at both the why and the how.
