The Last Action Hero...

Has Total Recall of His Life as a Kindergarten Cop-out, a Terminator, a Predator, and all-around Manly Man, and behaves accordingly.

The circus that is politics as usual in our sometimes paradise here on the Left Coast continues with Ah-nold, the Kaiser flexing his mouth recently for a partisan crowd at a mall in Stockton, California ... and offending tens of thousands of California residents with his reference to the old SNL bit featuring two steroid-bloated Austrian bodybuilders mocking "girlie-men". Of course, it does no good at all to point out to all the celebrity-addicted and celebrity-mesmerized that many of us told them that Ah-nold sees all life as a movie script and all political speeches as essential, cheesy but inane and entertaining dialogue. But I'm going to say it anyway: We Told You So!

But then, maybe I'm just a curmudgeonly anachronism. Maybe... just maybe the wise California conservatives knew what they'd get with Conan the Bavarian as their Running Man. Maybe they're happy with politicians' True Lies, suntanned smiles, and especially pleased with Ah-nold, the oh-so manly governator.
