You Can't Go Home Again

But You Can Still Get Double Features

Remember double features at the old movie theaters and drive-ins? Come on. Some of you must remember. Or at very least have seen some of the dazzling old photos. I know, I know. Some might think I'm just off in nostalgia la-la land again. After all, it's been the era of the multiplex theaters for some time now. Still, while something was gained when movie theaters gotter all bigger and more more more, perhaps something else golden was lost to that old devil Time when progress munched up their magnificent neon marquees. Ah. Progress.

But that's not what I'm here to talk to you about. (gratuitous Arlo Guthrie reference) ;-) I'm here to talk about a bloggy-good double feature for your Tuesday, February 1, 2005. Consider the double bill on this marquee: Bloggerman (Olbermann) Meets the Dobson Monster, HERE. And... Fafblog Versus the Evil Doctor Jim HERE.

Who said "nostalgia ain't what it used to be"? Bonus February points for anybody with a reasonable answer to this question of the ages.

Update, 5:41 PM PST: The only attribution I can find for the syllogism "nostalgia ain't what it used to be" besides "anonymous" is that it's from the old-time movie mogul Sam Goldwyn.
