Strawberry Fields Not Forever

This just in. In a repeal of a cultural milepost, the Christian Group Salvation Army has announced that they are closing Strawberry Field Children's Home.

This story is symbolic, and I don't quite have my grasp on it. I remember a day or so ago some conservative in a message board forum whining because a liberal had said that conservatives both want to maintain the status quo and to revert back to a happier time. I'm pretty sure nobody to the dimwit, and maybe he has returned to loot his bible of more out-of-context ammunition for when he meets a lesbian or something. It got me thinking then about how the real issue is that they want to repeal the 60's. Strawberry Fields going into the history books does just that, at least symbolically.

I am tempted otherwise to note that this would be a good time to go nuts posting lyrics in the comment section. . . but that would be scary to suggest.
Strawberry Fields
(John Lennon/Paul McCartney)

Let me take you down, 'cos I'm going to Strawberry Fields
Nothing is real, and nothing to get hungabout
Strawberry Fields forever

Living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see
It's getting hard to be someone but it all works out, it doesn't matter much to me
Let me take you down, 'cos I'm going to Strawberry Fields
Nothing is real, and nothing to get hungabout
Strawberry Fields forever

No one I think is in my tree, I mean it must be high or low
That is you can't you know tune in but it's all right, that is I think it's not too bad

Let me take you down, 'cos I'm going to Strawberry Fields
Nothing is real, and nothing to get hungabout
Strawberry Fields forever

Always, no sometimes, think it's me, but you know I know when it's a dream
I think I know I mean a "Yes" but it's all wrong, that is I think I disagree

Let me take you down, 'cos I'm going to Strawberry Fields
Nothing is real, and nothing to get hungabout
Strawberry Fields forever
Strawberry Fields forever
Strawberry Fields forever
