There is good news here, in that Bob Casey is outpolling Rick Santorum, but we're a long way from having actual candidates, and I want to hear them all.
Yeah, I know polls don't matter that much 18 months out, but this is our role as nodes within the blogzome. We are the one to watch the media to make sure they don't choose our candidates for us, and it appears that the Wilkes Barre Times Leader wants to do just that.
I'm not in the mood to accept the Times Leader's inevitable excuse that since Casey is from the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area they are focused on him. Chuck Pennacchio has been in this race longer than Bob Casey, and his organization is growing. Indeed, the Pennacchio website is far more mature and blogger-friendly than anything put forth by either Casey or Santorum. This is not to say I am decided at this point. But Pennacchio is working to reach out to Blogs, and we have a huge constituency of them in Pennsylvania just waiting to get energized in this race.
This is about a newspaper running a poll, though, one that does not show all of the viable choices of the people. Let's have at least some time for the candidates to introduce themselves to the people before the Times Leader, or Fast Eddie Rendell, for that matter, start endorsing and telling us who we are voting for.
