Happy Hanakuh

Israeli Jewish settler boys celebrate the Jewish festival of Hanukkah Tuesday Dec. 14, 2004, as they light candles in a menorah made by pieces of mortar shells that had been fired by Palestinians in the Jewish settlement of Neve Dekalim of the Gush Katif block of settlements in the Gaza Strip (news - web sites). A short time before the ceremony one Thai worker was killed and two lightly injured when Palestinian militants fired a mortar into the nearby Jewish settlement of Ganei Tal.

Let's not forget. The solution to the Middle East violence lies in Israel and in Palestine. Supposedly the favorite for replacing Arafat, Mahmoud Abbas, is positioning himself against the violence. We can only hope it eventually works.
