Being Susan Sheybani

Remember that little tiff the other day about the Bush campaign worker remarking that worker drones who don't like their jobs should get another job or take a Prozac?

Well. This could all be simply coincidental. After all, Susan Sheybani's a pretty common name, right? But.

Back in 2000, a fourth year poli-sci student at UCLA named Susan Sheybani wrote an article for the Daily Bruin Online, taking the position that gender-based affirmitive action was no longer a necessary ingredient in the university admission process. I'll pass no judgement on her opinion (but I do have to wonder what her position might have been on affirmative action in general...)

What I found interesting about the article was her bio. "Sheybani is a fourth-year political science student. she has been working on an upcoming book about females and affirmative action, which will be published by the American Enterprise Institute."

Turns out Ms. Sheybani also interned at AEI. And was a 2001 Washington, DC Cherry Blossom Princess while employed by House Majority Leader Dick Armey.

Yep. The Ms. Sheybani who wrote the affirmative action article, interned for AEI, and worked for Dick Armey was running in good company to be working for the Bush campaign. She's certainly got the AAA pedigree to be the same Susan Sheybani who's such a believer in Prozac.

I swear, everyone that's directly associated with the Bush administration must all come from the same mutant genetic strain. It's the only reasonable explanation.
