Why isn't this Blasting in Every Living Room

They call it a liberal media, but this story about the abuse of Iraqi prisoners is going almost noplace in the mainstream media, and the abuse is intensely shocking. Rape, forcing men to masturbate in front of each other and in front of women guards. Beatings. I'm thoroughly disgusted, but more so that the mainstream media is treating this as a mere blip on the horizon.

The whole story is brilliantly told in this week's
New Yorker. Perhaps I should not be too upset -- this story may build. CNN is reporting this as I write this.

Will the Bush attack committee now go after Seymour Hersch for reporting this?
