Liar? Or DAMN Liar? You Make the Call.

October 4, 2004:

"To my knowledge, I have not seen any strong, hard evidence that links [Iraq and al-Qaeda]," Rumsfeld added. "I just read an intelligence report recently about one person who's connected to al Qaeda who was in and out of Iraq. And it is the most tortured description of why he might have had a relationship and why he might not have had a relationship. It may have been something that was not representative of a hard linkage."

September 26, 2002:

"We do have solid evidence of the presence in Iraq of al-Qaeda members, including some that have been in Baghdad," Mr Rumsfeld said.

"We have what we consider to be very reliable reporting of senior-level contacts going back a decade and of possible chemical and biological agent training," he added.

Questioned by reporters on how recent the information was, he said that the information was "current".
In my opinion, it's a little too soon for Rummy to do the revisionist history thing. He's a damn poor liar just like the rest of the damn poor liars above and below him. But it makes absolutely no difference to Rummy -- he makes shit up as he goes along to suit the needs of the day or the situation. When he gets called on the lies, he blows it off just like the rest of the liars he works with.

I want everyone to remember this the next time a Republican tells the lie that there isn't going to be a draft if G.W. DeButcher is re-selected.
